7 & 8 March Fine Art Sale
William Tom Warrener (1861-1934) was a coal merchant’s son from Lincoln and is surely England’s least know significant painter. A friend of Toulouse-Lautrec, he is the top hatted Englishman in l’Anglais au Moulin Rouge, Toulouse-Lautrec’s best known poster and a marvellous image of bohemian life in late 19th century Paris. This scintillating picture titled In a French Garden was painted at Grez-sur-Loning.
