PHOTOGRAPHER UNKNOWN, EARLY 20TH C AN ALBUM OF PHOTOGRAPHS OF LANGLEY PARK BUCKINGHAMSHIRE SEAT OF SIR ROBERT BATESPM HARVEY, IST BARONET 125 geletin silver prints including 62 panoramic views of the house, grounds and family, mounted on linen hinged leaves, 16.5 x 36cm, half calf, upper board letter in gilt LANGLEY PARK 1923, wanting spineIn 1788 R B Harvey bought the Langley Estate which remained I the hands of his descendant until 1945 when it was purchased by Buckinghamshire County Council. Earlier in 1738 the park had been acquired by Charles Spencer, 3rd Duke of Marlborough for hunting until in 1756 he commissioned Stiff Leadbetter to build the present house finished in 1760. His successor George, 4th Duke of Marlborough commissioned Lancelot 'Capability' Brown to landscape the grounds.
