The left eye is half closed, apparently irritated by smoke rising from the cigarette. The only other known example has a cover shaped as an artist's wide brimmed hat.The gorilla with lizard handles and a frog knob. The style of the foliage incised around the back of the pot confirms that modelled plaques are also the work of Arty Hartshorne (see lots 323 and 324). An example of the body, adapted as a bank, is inscribed on the bottom for Elizabeth Lilian Taylor Born Jan 19th 1908, the child of one of the lady workers.
