A FINE ONYX CAMEO BY CHRISTIAN FRIEDRICH HECKER (C1754-1795) carved with the head of Aledander, signed HECKER, in a gold ring , 4.3g, size GHecker was born in the Tyrol and worked inn Rome. The gem carvings he produced, of both contemporary and antique subjects appealed greatly to learned travellers on the Grand Tour, such as Goethe, whose portrait he cut.
