AN 18CT GOLD KEYLESS LEVER HALF HUNTING CASED LADY'S WATCH WITH KEW CERTIFICATE, HECTOR GOLAY, LONDON No 7555, the three quarter plate movement engraved H Golay 46 Myddelton Square London Nr 7555, Patent 12098 AD1892, Class "A" Kew Certificate 748 marks, the case engine turned, crested, 4cm diam, casemaker F T Trahern & Sons, London 1913, 76gProvenance: The crest is that of Player for John Player (1842-1930) of Clydach, Swansea, mine owner and tinplate manufacturer by whom bought for his wife Martha Player, nee Strick; their daughter Lucy Player by whom bequeathed to her mother's great nephew, C L J Humphreys, thence by descent. The Players were also significant makers of machinery for the tinplate industry, including the 'Clydach Tinning Machine'.
