A VICTORIAN GOTHIC OAK WRITING TABLE BASED ON A DESIGN BY A W N PUGIN, C1850 fitted with a drawer, the ends carved with the initial M, on octagonal legs united by a pegged stretcher, the sides of the feet carved with a rose, recessed brass castors, the top hinged, 73cm h; 65.5 x 114cmThe writing or library table is similar to others that Pugin supplied to Charles Barry from 1844 onwards for the Palace of Westminster.
