A SWISS ROSEWOOD MUSICAL BOX FROM BRANTWOOD, CONISTON, C1870 the key wound movement with 21.5 pinned cylinder and one piece comb, in plain case with three levers at one end, old handwritten label to the underside of the lid 'Brantwood', brass winding key (2)Provenance: The local Antique Dealer Miss Elizabeth Tyson (1878-1970) of Busk House, Ambleside by whom acquired in person at the Sale of the remaining contents of Brantwood, Coniston, July 1931 or else shortly thereafter; thence by descent to the present vendorIt has not been possible to establish whether this musical box was one of Ruskin's possessions or belonged to Arthur Severns.
