A FINE AMETHYST AND DIAMOND RING in white gold, engraved inside hoop M.M.S. to F.M.S..[-] April 1911, indistinct lozenge shaped maker's mark and tete d'aigle control mark, 4.4g, size M ½, in contemporary Tiffany & Co red leather ring box lettered TIFFANY & CO 221 REGENT ST. W. LONDON There seems no reason to doubt that this very attractive ring was retailed by Tiffany & Co, who traded from the shop at 221 (and 221A) Regent Street between 1891 and 1922 (source: Culme, Directory of Gold & Silversmiths Jewellers and Allied Traders).
